About Byford
A country-town heart, a growing community.
Byford sits at the foot of the Darling Scarp, about 38 kilometres south-east of Perth. It began as a dairy and brick-making town in the early 1900s and still carries that unhurried, semi-rural feel, with horse paddocks and equestrian properties alongside new estates.
It is a young suburb: the median age is 30, and children under five are the single largest age group. Byford Primary, Marri Grove, West Byford, Salvado and Byford Secondary College are names we hear every week.
That demographic shapes our Byford work: a lot of first eye tests, and a lot of conversations about myopia.

What we see from your neighbourhood.
Byford has a distinct profile, and it shows in what walks through the door.
Kids, and lots of them
With under-fives the largest age group, we do a lot of first eye tests. Every children's exam is bulk-billed, so cost is never the reason to delay one.
Tradies, FIFO and long commutes
Shift fatigue, long driving hours and glare are a real combination. We fit driving lenses, anti-fatigue designs and proper safety eyewear.
Scarp trails and weekend sport
Outdoor lives mean UV load and the practical question of glasses versus contacts during activity. We work through both.
Myopia on the rise
Prescriptions strengthening year on year is the single most common concern parents raise. It is also the one we can actually do something about.
