About Kelmscott

A town with a long memory.

Kelmscott, known to the Whadjuk Noongar people as Goolamrup, is one of the oldest European settlements in Western Australia, established in 1830 as one of the Swan River Colony's four founding townsites.

Today it is a suburb where people stay. Roughly seven in ten households are owner-occupied, the median age is 40, and nearly a fifth of residents are over 65. Kelmscott Primary, founded in 1882, has generations of the same families through its gates.

That settledness shapes what we see: whole families booking together, and long-term patients we have followed for years.

What we see from your neighbourhood.

Kelmscott brings us a particular mix.

1

The whole family, together

Grandparents and grandkids in the same week, often the same afternoon. We keep the same optometrist across the family so nothing gets lost between visits.

2

Aging in place

With nearly a fifth of residents over 65, cataract monitoring, glaucoma checks and macular assessments are routine work for us. No trip to the city required.

3

The loyalty thing

People here stay. We have patients whose parents we saw, and whose children we now see. That continuity is the whole point of an independent practice.

4

Hills lifestyle, sun exposure

Outdoor time on larger blocks means real UV load. We fit polarised and Australian-standard lenses as a matter of course.

Transparent prices. No surprises.
