Our Process

You book into our clinic for your eye test.

You visit our clinic and discuss your symptoms with our optometrist.

During your test we check your overall eye health for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, retinal problems, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc.

Our optometrist issues your prescription and guides you to our highly experienced dispenser.

Our dispenser works with you to identify the frame and lens combination you desire.

We design and develop your new glasses to suit your face, style, and personality.

You revisit our practice to collect your new glasses, excited to see the world in a new light.

We send a friendly notification every year to remind you of your next check-up.

Eye conditions

During your eye examination, we can identify eye conditions which may be causing the symptoms you are experiencing.

Once diagnosed, we are able to provide you a solution to reduce not only your symptoms, but the deterioration of your precious eyesight.

Macular degeneration

Caused by abnormal blood vessels which leak into the macular. Surgery and/or a combination of vitamins and minerals may reduce the disease progression. Unfortunately, non-curable.

Retinal problems

There are many retinal diseases and conditions which can be repaired, however, if the retina detaches and is not treated promptly, vision loss or blindness may occur.

A group of eye conditions which cause gradual vision loss. Damage is often caused by abnormally high pressure in your eye. Unfortunately, non-curable.

Usually caused from age or damage within the tissue, however, cataracts can be congenital. Treatable with surgery where your natural lens is replaced with an artificial lens.

Can be recognised by damaged blood vessels in the eye. Symptoms include blurry vision, black spots, and poor colour perception. Diabetes can also cause blindness. Unfortunately, non-curable.

Rodenstock DNEye® scanner

At Spectrum Family Eye Care, we have introduced the Rodenstock DNEye® high-precision 3D scanner into our practice. This revolutionary technology utilises an axial length measurement tool to measure your eyes more precisely than ever before. This allows us to detect and monitor the development of Myopia earlier and help prevent future problems with your eyesight.

We have decided to help those in what we feel are 3 important groups  by introducing a fully covered examination to the following:
a) Children 16 years old and below,
b) Seniors, with proof of entitlement, and
c) Concession card holders , upon proof of entitlement at date of service.
